2020-09-23 The World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) hosted the first virtual edition of the Indian Media Leaders eSummit on 21 and 22 September, with more than 500 news media executives registered from across South Asia. The summit brought together ideas on business transformation, future of news, structural changes in the Indian journalism revenue pattern. Among other topics, it addressed future business models, reader engagement and distributed newsrooms with the pandemic as the backdrop. The WAN-IFRA India 2020 - Printing Summit, India's popular annual event for technology and print production managers, follows the 'Indian Media Leaders eSummit' on 23-24 September.  Read more ...

2020-09-22 WAN-IFRA is announcing today ten new members who will be serving on its Supervisory Board of Directors. They were elected the Association's Annual General Assembly of Members held on Wednesday 16 September. Four new members will be serving on its Executive Board of Directors and twenty-five Board Members were also reappointed for a new term of office at the same meeting. Read more ...

The 2-month long (August-September 2020) career training for women journalists and editors will include sessions on career development, media management, and gender balance in content. 2020-07-30 The World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), FTI Consulting and Google announced the launch of the APAC GNI Subscriptions Lab at the WAN-IFRA Asian Media Leaders eSummit. The Lab is an intensive four-month programme to help eight different news publishers from the Asia-Pacific region strengthen digital subscriptions capabilities and grow reader revenue.
